While golfers can confuse themselves regarding proper rotation during their backswings, especially with the multitude of available lessons and drills to follow, the simple solution always involves allowing your body to rotate naturally during a golf swing.
George Gankas golf lessons focus on allowing a player to amplify their strengths while working to correct any weaknesses in form and composition. Comprised of George Gankas golf lessons and videos, the GG Swing Method has continued to be credited by players from around the world with completely changing the way they golf for the better.
At address, golfers establish the proper positioning for their body, lining up their shoulders and hips with their target. Some players forget to align their shoulders and hips in the same direction, which will lead to missed shots and aggravation on the golf course.
When starting your backswing, your hips will remain at the position taken during address while your shoulders should naturally rotate. This will eliminate the probability of any pulled muscles or injury during the backswing sequence.
Once your shoulders have rotated, the hips will start their rotation on the back end of the backswing to downswing transition. With your hips rotating only 50% or less than that of your shoulders, you’ll be able to transition into your downswing seamlessly.
Tilting and turning your shoulders during the backswing sequence will be natural yet easily identifiable by the player and spectators. With our shoulders rotating at least 90 degrees opposite of the ball and target, our chest will point away from the intended target of our golf swing.
With this positioning during our swing, our shoulders will be perpendicular to our intended target. When transitioning from backswing to downswing, the lead shoulder will need to be lower than the trail shoulder, creating the perfect tilt aimed down at the golf ball.
Swinging at this angle will assist in getting the ball more air once the impact position has been reached by the golfer.
