To even the most casual golfer, the idea of being able to send the ball sailing 60+ yards with a wedge can seem very easy. But, as one of the world’s most complex sports, most players will find that executing this shot with a wedge can be more difficult than it appears, especially without the proper instruction beforehand.

George Gankas golf lessons emphasize the importance of developing your golf swing around the natural body mechanics that are unique to each golfer. Rather than seeking to reinvent the player’s swing entirely, the GG Swing Method amplifies the natural strengths in a golfer while working to correct any flawed motion. Golfers from around the globe have credited their consumption of George Gankas golf videos to be a major factor in their improved swing composition.

Players that are often faced with a most hit shot from between 50-70 yards should consider first practicing their wedges from this exact distance. Working on your wedge shot from this distance will force your body to develop the correct muscle memory to perform consistently in real course play.

You should then evaluate which wedge produces consistent results for you in regards to achieving your desired distance while taking only a 3/4 swing. Many players will practice with a half swing just to determine which wedge feels most comfortable while seeking to achieve the desired yardage.

The only way to build consistent distance with your wedge will be through repetition. Practicing this shot over and over will be necessary to naturalize the motion into your muscle memory. As you continue to practice your swing, you’ll want to gradually move towards a full swing as you begin to increase your confidence.

Most casual players are encouraged to begin working with a wedge around 52 degrees, with a slight reduction in the typical force they impart into their shots. This also depends on the typical amount of force you’re able to execute so experimentation may be needed on the part of the player. With practice you’ll soon be able to send the ball sailing 60+ yards at will.
